The Snake and the Woodpeckers at Ursa Minor Lodge

It is not easy to do your spring cleaning with all of this going on!

The snake was up in the tree next to the nest tree, way at the top, the birds are so large and close that they can't help but catch you eye. Both mom and dad were double teaming that snake, one would strike and hop, the other would be right behind. The snake went 'flying' down the tree, stretching it's body out to try and catch a limb, but one of the birds would be there and strike again. Three maybe four flights the snake lands in the spot pictured below and it has been a stand off for most of an hour now. All for now.
